Damn It Feels Good To Be a Ex-Reality Star

Can you believe another runway season begins tomorrow?
The fall/winter ‘09 collections to be exact. And in a matter of days, I will be completely over the Balenciaga florals (and officially sick of that darn blazer), Marc Jacobs fabulous granny attire, and the bold colored patents that have consumed practically every designers accessories this season.
Well, I will remain jaded until I can digest what the hell I just saw. And then its back to plotting with the hopes of scooping up one of those Fendi Baguettes.
Anyways, and more importantly (in the realm of fashion reality TV), in a matter of days we will all be able to see what Project Runway finalists Christian, Jillian, and-the-one-who-shall-remain-nameless has cooked up. It should be interesting. Especially, if Rami isn’t the mystery person.
In the meantime, season 2 Project Runway contestant Zulema Griffin is debuting her ‘09 winter goodies via Youtube on February 3. When asked by Flypaper why she wasn’t showing under the tents, Griffin quips:
“One, I’ve never been invited to show at the tents. In addition to that, I don’t have the funds. A small tent is $28,000 - that includes chairs…,” she said. “I also think because of the themes of my shows, nothing I’ve done done has lent itself to a traditional tent show.”
True - plus, you can always disable the comments on Youtube.
Married To The Mob: One Trick Pony No More?

Good afternoon! ladies and gentlemen. We have a little announcement to make:
Married To The Mob now makes jeans.
We Know, We know. We’re really excited too. The details are still under wraps (what else is new in streetwear), but the female brand is said to be dropping variety of denim fits with MOB acronym on the back pockets.
We’re pretty sure this is apart of some type of collaboration, but we’re still thrilled nonetheless.
This is definitely a step-up for Leah. Hopefully, there will more this year..
PS: The tees and hoodies were always cool, though.
Fabsugar Derek Lam Handbag Giveaway!

Valentine’s day is rapidly approaching. And regardless if you have someone special to spend the day fighting with and/or Facebook stalk, nothing should prevent you from entering Fabsugar’s February giveaway.
This month, they are giving a gorgeous cherry red Derek Lam shoulder bag. The Erin Media Bauletto Bag comes in a supple Nubuck leather and immaculate top stitching. The beautifully cinched sides unbuckle to expand the bags capacity and the brass hardware compliments the overall simple design nicely.
To enter to win this particular arm candy, you need to take the Fabsugar online quiz, which you must be a member and logged in to complete. There will be a random drawing on February 8, at 5:00pm, where a winner will be selected.
In the meantime, you could easily steal these hearts. No strings attached, of course…
Converse For Target

Pssst!
Earlier this year Converse announced that its One Star brand would be designing sneakers exclusively for Target this spring.
Well, after lurking on the Target website for the past couple of days, we’ve stumbled upon several pairs of adorable (and sparkling) skimmers, slip-ons, and low tops. Oh, yeah - One Star apparently agreed to do a few clothing items too, and so far, we’ve spotted a knee-length denim skirt, striped polo, and Hooded Henley. Basically, your standard middle school wardrobe.
The cute “anti-sneakers” all cost about $30, which means you’ll still have enough money left over to purchase the bohemian-chic tops and shorts of Jovovich-Hawk and the funky downtown handbags a la Joy Gryson.
All together now: Target has the high/low fashion collaborations on lock.
“Do I look Like A Hoe In These?”

Once upon a time, there was a reality show on TV1 hosted by the legendary Patti Labelle. Every week, Mrs. Patti would take the film crew to some cool art museum, five star restraunt, or the recording studio to document her and all of her fabulousness.
On one particular episode, the show got the MTV cribs treatment - and for those who missed the episode - her home is completely sick (in a good way).
Anyways, our favorite part (of course) was when we got to see all of Mrs. Labelle’s clothes. She showed us everything - old costumes, collection of furs - sorry PETA - and her shoe collection. (God, her shoe collection!)
There was one pair of black heels with some sparkling material on them that were nothing short of amazing, but Mrs. Patti only wore them once. She say she wore them out and immediately got that “hooker feeling” and thought they were better suited for a “young girl.”
Well, at 64 the diva still has a spectacular set of legs that we know would have done the shoes justice, but we get where she is coming from.
With that, if you think you can step out looking “hoe-friendly” in these YSL Tribute platform pumps - go for it. They are our must-have item this summer! At Saks for $760.
Ignorance Is Bliss

“I am sure this will be a shock to the brands that specialize in knocking off some of the talent in the fashion industry. They had their cake and have been eating it for a while.”
