When Saks announced a couple of months ago that its online store would be streaming videos of professional models wearing their expensive garb, my initial reaction was, “so?”
Regardless if the models did cart wheels in their viral videos, how would a bit of motion compel me to buy high fashion?
But then, I saw this set-up for the fall Marc by Marc trunk show. The majority of the punk looks are accompanied by a video, where some Marc “employee” breaks down the collections key pieces.
The clip features flashes of neon light and commentary so cheesy I can’t help but think that the woman believes every word coming out of her mouth. Oh, and the clothes. I really love the clothes. Especially, the high-waisted skirts.
I’m not sure if this video actually led me to pre-order something or if I’m just aching for another Bryant Park moment from Marc, but I wouldn’t mind seeing more of these when I’m checking out. You know, a cheerleader who makes those $300 flats mouse flats I just put on my credit card a very wise and practical decision.
But you already knew that.
